Let me explain.
When you buy one of our capes or wraps or fashion pieces, they come with a guarantee.
You are buying merino that has not been damaged or altered by chemicals.
Our merino has wicking properties..it absorbs heat off your body without you feeling hot and damp and then it also does the opposite when needed, keeping you warm when it is cold.
It is like magic.
These are pure, honest merino sheep.
HOWEVER.
..these have clearly had something added!!
If a garment says “merino made in China” it is a lie.
It will be merino plus chemicals including formaldehyde
“Formaldehyde is an important precursor to many other materials and chemical compounds.
In view of its widespread use, toxicity, and volatility, formaldehyde poses a significant danger to human health.In 2011, the US National Toxicology Program described formaldehyde as “known to be a human carcinogen”
I am not saying don’t buy these garments.
The reason to buy these mostly becomes about price, they will always be cheaper than making here, and of course there are some great styles.
What I am trying to do is to make you aware of what you are choosing to put against your skin.
Our food is now labelled “may contain traces of nuts” etc., so why are our clothes labelled with “ contains traces of formaldehyde and other nasties”.
